An especially elegant expression of junmai, Koujo just screams "CUCUMBER!" It is cool, herbaceous, has a little hint of salinity, and a surprisingly plump mouthfeel for the style. This is a great introductory bottle for those new to sake, but also just a great value.
About the producer
Kiku-Masamune was founded in 1659 and by 1938 was Japan’s largest sake brewery in terms of production. Their research in the 1980s into the science of sake brewing and pairing with sake with food helped revolutionize sake quality and sales.
