Golden Horizon
The name of this sake is a tribute to the rice fields of Niigata Prefecture, where it is brewed. Fitting as this junmai, or "pure rice" sake, is rather simple and straightforward, not unlike a bowl of warm rice. It is mostly dry and a bit woodsy (think evergreen trees). Austere, perhaps, but typical and a good introduction to premium quality sake.
